Club combats loneliness

I read with interest your article on trying to tackle loneliness.

I am a senior carer and know how this feels for a lot of the elderly. In 1999 I started a club, called the Preston Friday Club.

We meet every Friday afternoon at 2.00pm in Knoyle Hall, Knoyle Road.

I run this club voluntarily and it is open to the community.

I organise talks some with slides on a variety of topics, we also have gentle exercise, quizzes, and a Christmas party. I only charge £1.50 and that includes tea and cake. If people would like further information please feel free to contact me.
