here’s growing optimism now that the future of the high street is looking bright once again as they adapt and innovate for the modern shopper by embracing new technologies like click and collect.

A new competition is searching for Britain’s best high streets. Yours could be one of them.

Many local people are already proud of their local high street – all testament to the tireless work of town teams, local councils and community groups.

This competition represents a chance to gain well deserved recognition for your area, win a share of the £50,000 cash prize and tailored support and mentoring from leading industry experts.

There seven categories to enter: city centres, town centres, market towns, coastal communities, villages, parades and London.

The Government is doing its bit and has committed to high streets as part of our long-term economic plan.

It is supporting local shops and businesses with a billion pound package of investment that includes targeted business rate discounts, sensible planning changes and action that reins in over-zealous parking practices.

So show your support for your high street nominations on twitter using #GBHighSt or visit www.thegreatbritishhighstreet.co.uk.
