NHS wastes money on agency staff and managers
Here we go again! The Argus reports that drink related admissions to our local hospitals cost the NHS £13.9 billion per year.
I’m sure many people would like to know how the so called experts came up with this ridiculously high figure!
If long term care is needed for drink related problems the money comes out of other government department budgets. Doctors and nurses still get paid even if the A&E and emergency wards are empty.
Heating, lighting and water bills stay the same if the hospital is half empty.
Food per patient works out at about £1.60p per day, so I assume 95% of the £13.9 billion must be paid out to private companies for staff agency fees and overpaid managers.
