Help. Here I am in Australia about to make my annual Christmas hazelnut gateau when calamity strikes. I have recently moved house and misplaced my Hungry Monk original recipes book.

Memories of fabulous dinners at this once landmark restaurant remain but the actual ratios for the gateau don’t. I relied on my old recipe book too much!

Does anyone have the recipe? Ingredients are digestive biscuits, syrup, butter, dates, cherries, hazelnuts etc.

I have all their recipe books so you would not believe I have mislaid my poor old tattered first!!

Maybe Nigel or his wife could email me a copy!

I corresponded with them about a week before they closed...a sad moment.
