HOW can East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service approve to cut a fire appliance from Hove when they cannot meet their own response times for a second fire engine in more than 50% of call outs (and this is before the cuts)?

If I need the fire service I, like others, would expect a speedy and full response, not one appliance with four firefighters.

This places the firefighters with a moral dilemma of entering buildings without sufficient personnel.

Over the last 10 years, government figures show the deaths of 18 firefighters, which is totally unacceptable.

I urge everyone in Hove to contact the fire authority and tell them to reverse their decision.

The population of Brighton and Hove is booming and will continue to. It deserves better.

Does ESFRS really want to play Russian roulette with their lives and that of the firefighters?
