I have just read that 280 more roads are set for 20mph speed limit.

After enduring months and months of these ‘improvements’ around us it would appear that in Kemp Town Somerset Street, which is already used as a ‘rat run’ when there are problems in Edward Street and Eastern Road, has yet again been ignored.

This street houses three blocks of sheltered housing for older people and quite a few older citizens in the tower blocks opposite.

Quite a few children use this street to get to their school in Park Road. It doesn’t take much working out that cars etc will use it to get to St Georges Road to reach the A259 coast road.

I know that in the scheme of things senior citizens don’t rate that highly on the council’s agenda.

But we would like a certain amount of peace and calm in our remaining days.
