What great news that the Frack Free Balcombe Residents Association (FFBRA), who number about 300 members only from a village population of about 1,800, have lost their judicial review against West Sussex County Council Planning Committee.

The judge found in favour of WSCC Planning Commitee and Cuadrilla.

The FFBRA thought that Cuadrilla should not be allowed to flow test the well at Lower Stumble for oil, although given permission to do so through the WSCC Planning Committee.

The FFBRA are against fracking (Cuadrilla have stated they will not frack this site) and conventional oil exploration, yet these people are happy to run one, two or three cars, fly in planes polluting the atmosphere every day without any consideration where the fuel comes from.

About 800 objections were given to WSCC with regard to this flow test application, but looking at the addresses of the objectors, most did not even live in Balcombe.

They came from all over the UK, just like the protesters we had the misfortune to endure through the summer of 2013.

Let’s hope now that Cuadrilla can carry out their flow test of the well without any more objections/protests in the future!
