I have just read the article in the Argus that Brighton and Hove City Council is looking to spend £26m on street lighting to save money. Maybe if they serviced the street lights they have got now they would not be wasting money.

Within an area half a mile from my address there are four lampposts not working during the night but one came on between 9am and 10am and is still on.

On the way to the gym and back I counted seven street lights that were on at 10am.

Maybe Geoffrey Theobald can think of a different approach to this system.

If this is a sample of what is happening over the city how much money is being wasted?
