The decision on the future of the Hippodrome is still not decided. Why not make it a small venue for old time music hall nights, summer shows and proper pantomimes like Cinderella, or Aladdin at Christmas?
But of course the big problem is access. The narrow one-way system in the area makes it difficult to reach, and who wants to wait on a cold windy seafront for one’s coach or car.
We need a large venue, suitable for holding conferences, exhibitions and the big London shows, but where to build it?
Nowhere in Brighton. Maybe between Woodingdean and Falmer, but within easy reach and with ample parking spaces.
With the train fares and parking fees increasing, many more folk will use coach travel so please build a decent coach station. Of course the Circus Street market would have been ideal.
Knock down Dukes Mound. There has always been trouble there. Have cafes and easy bus transport to Brighton at the Marina – or some land at the front of Roedean School?
