Major congratulations to ice skater Sonny Keywood (January 2).

What a sheer pleasure to read in The Argus of a local young ice hockey player daring to take a slap-shot at a very public goal.

The result is that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II seems supportive of a new ice rink for Brighton and Hove.

Three cheers for HM the Queen for speaking out for Brighton skaters.

Our Queen is always informed.

As Royal Patron of the National Ice Skating Association the Royal interest has never wavered.

George IV built The Royal Pavilion in Brighton.

In our present age a Royal Brighton Ice Arena by Appointment of her Majesty the Queen would become another iconic pleasure dome for Brighton in the universal bid to Keep Sussex Skating.

Brighton and Hove City Council please take note – fail at your peril – of a high ranking Royal Order.

The ice skaters mean Battle Royal.

God Save the Queen.
