Regarding the 20mph speed limit (phase three) that Brighton and Hove City Council are now going to press on with, I wonder how many people are aware of how many replied to the surveys sent out.

The council sent out 57,989 survey forms and received just 5,543 replies stating a preference.

This is just over 9.5% of those given a chance to give their opinion.

According to The Argus report, 55% of residents are in favour of the reduction in speed. This is not true as only 55% of those that responded were in favour.

This means less than 3,050 (5.25%) out of 57,989 people have managed to bring about changes that you may not have wanted.

If you have a view that you may be able to influence, use your vote, or perhaps get something you never wanted.
