I have always found Tim Ridgway, pictured, sensible and honest and it is good to see him continuing to do that in his excellent A view from the Ridgway (Argus, March 16).

It feels like the attitude of the current council administration is: ‘We are doing this our way so tough on those who don’t like it’.

This is an appalling attitude to take with residents and particularly with volunteers of all ages who are freely giving their time to our city via voluntary organisations.

Once again we are told that charging voluntary organisations huge sums to park near their premises will be looked at under the so called annual parking review which we already know means nothing as the current administration will still go ahead and introduce parking schemes where they are not necessarily the best solution for all.

There is yet another proposal to go out to consultation to introduce what will probably be the largest CPZ (controlled parking zone) ever considered in the city across the Surrenden and Fiveways area.

Where will it all end? Hopefully on May 7.
