How much longer are we expected to put up with the road works in North Street?

We either have to cross a dangerous road at the western end of St James’ Street or alternatively take the scenic route along the seafront and walk down from the clock tower in order to get anywhere in North Street.

I wish I had made a note of when this started but I know it’s been going on for several weeks.

Who do we blame – councillors or council officers?

Is there not a penalty clause as part of the contract?

Is there no money to pay the workers to do some of it at weekends or in the evening?

When is it all going to end?

And all this in the best spell of weather we’ve had (it seems) for years or are they going to blame excessive sunshine for the delay?
