When are they going to sort the traffic congestion problem in Newhaven town?

The worst is early mornings and early evenings and weekends.

It can take you over 20 minutes to get through the one-way system, owing to seven sets of pedestrian lights.

Why so many, I ask myself. Why not use the good old zebra crossings?

The trouble with pedestrian lights is people push them and wait so long they dart across in the end.

No wonder people by-pass the town – not that’s there is anything to go there for, not even a bank.

And if there is a bridge opening you could be held up for up to a hour.

That problem could be solved by a fly-over, the increase in traffic has been caused by the retail areas over the bridge ie Sainsbury, KFC, Lidl, etc.

The whole road system needs looking at and sorting out.
