I URGE bus companies Stagecoach, Compass, Brighton and Hove and Metro buses to provide better services in the morning and evening for people to go to work etc.

Furthermore, I feel sorry for the drivers being stuck in traffic stretching from Southwick tunnel to Lancing.

It is ridiculous for the Highways Agency to conduct a survey on the A27.

There would be less traffic on the road anyway if Stagecoach, Compass, Brighton and Hove and Metro bus operators provided more frequency in the morning and evening.

The public transport system is failing the oldest and most vulnerable in society in England especially in rural areas.

It is shocking to discover that more than half of the over 65s either never use public transport or use it less than once a month, despite being eligible for free bus travel.

Furthermore, the elderly are in poor health and those living in rural areas are let down the most by public transport.

It is disgraceful that approximately 35,000 people aged 65-84 in England have difficulty walking even a short distance, but are restricted to using public transport.

Public transport does need a massive wake-up call.

Furthermore, as a society, we need to support the 65 onwards to use the bus services.

Bus operators need to play more of a part for those people to live and retain health and independence for longer.
