MY heart goes out to Brighton and Hove bus drivers.

The job of getting people to their destination quickly, safely and on time has become pretty well impossible.

Western Road has no space for proper two-way flow which means an endless queue of buses emitting diesel fumes over pedestrians.

Bus drivers try but often fail to avoid road-calming obstacles, throwing and jerking passengers nearly off their seats.

This happens at least once on every bus journey.

The endless rerouting as a result of roadworks also causes frustration for passengers and drivers, especially when they are trying to keep to a timetable. Oh the stress!

The outrageous parking charges that doubled under the previous Green council have made car use in Brighton an expensive misery.

All I can say is thank you bus drivers. How do you do it day after day?
