I WOULD like to comment on the decision for a vote in Parliament on the EU and Caroline Lucas.

Any environmental policy must have population stability as its core.

The EU has made it clear that access to the free market must have free movement of people which means mass immigration.

Caroline’s and the Green Party’s position is therefore absurd as well as anti democratic.

Indeed if the Law Lords are correct we ought to have a public enquiry as to why it is so.

When Edward Heath (Tory) took us into the EEC the people and Parliament were not consulted.

It was the incoming government which followed, led by Harold Wilson (Labour) which held a referendum on remaining in.

Later when John Major (Tory) joined GAT neither the people or parliament were consulted.

GAT destroyed the Treaty Of Rome which underpinned the EEC. The governments of Europe did not want to lose the co-operation which the trading agreement of the EEC had created and in secret formed the EU.

The people of Europe were not made aware, let alone consulted, and did not know the EU existed for some years.

The EU aimed at political union, created a flag and is trying to form a European army (currently just Germany and France involved).

When John Major joined monetary union (the snake) neither the people or Parliament were consulted, thankfully it collapsed and we came out of it.

My point is that the government of the day makes treaties and withdraws from them, the terms are decided by that government and does not involve statutes being created by Parliament.

By suggesting withdrawing from the EU does suggest at some point a UK government handed our country over to a foreign power and made us subject to their laws.

We need a public enquiry to obtain the facts and call people still alive to account. Was it treason?

I can understand why some are calling foul but they are in error. Only the Government was in a position to make promises in the referendum, their policy was to remain.

Ukip were not allowed to be part of the Leave campaign which was led by Tories.

Those Tories could also not make promises as they were not in charge of Government. They could only state the sums of money and suggest alternative ways of spending it and both sides could only debate pros and cons of leaving or remaining.

The £350 million is an accurate figure.

Half is returned and has to be spent as dictated by the EU commission.

If our fishermen and farmers are no longer restricted, some or all the subsidy money can be spent elsewhere. In practice the UK Government is likely to continue those subsidies direct rather than via the EU until new situations exist.

Indeed it takes two years to leave after Article 50 is signed. Until then our payments continue as dictated by Brussels.

The question on the referendum paper was clear and made to sound by both sides as binding.

The Government obviously felt the Leave vote would be higher if only an opinion was asked for as everyone with an axe to grind would make their point. The majority to leave was almost one and a half million, it was not a close vote. We had an act of Parliament for the referendum to take place.
