THE Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner has launched a public consultation on her new Police and Crime Plan.
Commissioner Katy Bourne, who describes herself in her latest newsletter as the voice for local people on policing and crime, is seeking the views of Sussex residents on the plan’s objectives and is encouraging them to complete an online consultation which runs until the end of November.
People participating in the survey are being asked to agree or disagree with a series of proposals.
However, anyone completing it will soon find that the questions have been constructed in such a way that it is hard, if not impossible, for anyone to disagree with any of them.
The end result will be that the PCC will be able to claim, quite justifiably, that everybody who completed the survey agreed with her plan and that she has a mandate to put it into place.
If there was ever an example of how not to run a public consultation this is it.
A total waste of time and money.
