I WOULD formally like to thank my residents who came out in strength for the Brunswick and Adelaide area tidy up last Saturday.

We had residents deep cleaning in Brunswick Square, planting on Lansdowne Place and sweeping on Farm Road – all pulling together.

I would like to thank Cityclean staff Eduardo Costa, Ryan Talbot and Mick Bones for their wonderful assistance throughout the entire day.

The tidy up comes hot on the heels of the celebrations held in our area to celebrate Brunswick Town in Bloom’s Silver Gilt Award (and winner) award for Urban Community and the many “It’s your neighbourhood” awards in the South and South East in Bloom campaign.

This included a commendation from the mayor for the efforts from residents to make our area a better place to live.

I am very proud to represent an area of our city where so much effort is made to beautify the neighbourhood and draw the community together.

Councillor Phélim Mac Cafferty, Green councillor for Brunswick and Adelaide
