THERE are some of the local people here in Peacehaven and Telscombe Cliffs who are currently up in arms.

One might suspect it is close to open revolt.

Over the past few months Peacehaven has been blessed by Greggs, the bakers, opening a nice shop on the South Coast Road, shortly after The Co-Op opened a nice shop too.

Both of these businesses are very welcome to the town and enhance the business world here.

However, sadly there is a problem brewing on the South Coast Road in the parking for these nice stores.

I would like to inform the local people as well as any visitors who may happen to be snared on to this car park.

The car park is private property and is covered by a number of security cameras, nothing wrong in that you might argue, quite right and proper.

These days you have to have security to protect your property, however, there is another angle to these cameras, they are there to catch customers.

The customers of the two shops.

Should you not use the few designated car parking spaces, it will cost you £100 fine, or it is called a receipt.

There are a lot of people who are blaming the Co-Op and Greggs. That is wrong, they are equally upset by these heavy fines.

Beware, for failing to park between the designated lines, they will have you.

The disabled bays are situated as far away from the stores as they can be, especially if you are shopping at the Co-Op. Little thought went into that, which is obvious.

A disabled person would have a long way to walk with a bagful of shopping back to their car.

So people of Peacehaven and Telscombe Cliffs, it isn’t the fault of the shops, but be careful, be very careful.
