THE Conservative Party is still very divided about Europe.

After John Major lost in the 1997 general election the Conservative Party selected William Hague then Iain Duncan Smith and finally Michael Howard as leader.

The people of Britain clearly wanted Ken Clarke.

But because he was pro European the Conservatives preferred to lose three elections to Tony Blair instead of picking Ken as their leader.

Even David Cameron won the leadership instead of Ken, because he wasn’t Ken. People forget now that David Cameron did not win the 2010 election.

He relied on Lib Dem support to get him into Downing Street. If Ken had been Conservative leader would they have ever been needed?

Theresa May wants to hold her party together at all costs. That is why she is arguing for Brexit when just nine months ago she was arguing for completely the opposite.

Shouldn’t we be placing the interests of the whole country ahead of the Conservative Party?
