I AM writing to express my concern over the new planning proposals that have been approved by Worthing Borough Council.
The Aquarena Development – or more commonly known among residents as Marmite Towers – is casting a shadowing doubt in my mind whether this is a positive thing for Worthing.
I have had many connections with the town for the last 30 years and I have watched the many applications be rejected and approved but this project I am finding very difficult to accept.
I even went to the packed public meeting at the assembly room and I was surprised by the amount of public opposition. If could someone reassure me of the benefits to residents I would be most grateful.
There is another proposal at the other end of the town at the end of Grand Avenue. This in my opinion echoes a comparison.
Is this the future of our town’s coastline?
Will the next project be to build an enormous block of flats in the Teville Gate site near the station or the site of the Connaught Theatre?
