OVER the last few years I have complained many times to Brighton and Hove City Council about vehicles parked on the pavements around the King Alfred.
The council tells me it is a police matter.
When I get through to the police they say it is not a police matter and tell me to refer my complaint to the council.
I have approached parking attendants, who tell me they receive many complaints but have been told not to ticket offending vehicles. They don’t know why.
I have also been told something along the lines that it has to do with the No 700 bus stop.
The situation has now become so ridiculous that vehicles have now started parking on pavements across the road too.
I have seen up to 10 vehicles parked at any one time in this area. It seems it is becoming a free for all – literally.
