As a resident of the Lewes Road Triangle in Brighton, I was delighted to see the Guerrilla Gardeners’ work on Sunday.
They are heroes and heroines, not vandals, and deserve credit for brightening up a depressing and neglected corner of our community.
This was an example of local people working together to improve their environment, demonstrating energy and creativity with a cheerful and welcoming attitude.
The development of this garden is the latest in a series of activities in which local residents have been engaged, from setting up the flower tubs in Lewes Road to combating litter and researching local history.
Small actions can make a difference. I shall certainly join them on their gardening day on May 24.
