IT wrecks, destroys and takes lives.
Bullying has no place in modern society – especially one that apparently prides itself on equality and diversity.
For too long victims have been suffered the taunts of bullies in the playground, the workplace and at home. That’s why events like Anti-Bullying Week, which concludes today, are so important in raising awareness of the problem.
It’s a problem that could be argued is underrated when compared to the ‘war on drugs’, for example. Bullying’s devastating effects are kept harboured until it’s all too much for the victim, and too late for loved ones to intervene.
It is important campaigns, events and resources that help stamp out the problem are continually funded and given page, TV and airspace.
It’s also vital to not only try and sweep the problem under the carpet, but educate perpetrators about how their actions affect others.
As well as their victims, bullies too need help and support to encourage them to choose a better path.
