SINGERS and bands have given fans many treasured memories in Brighton over the decades.
New wave stars Ian Dury and the Blockheads played a gig at the Brighton Centre in 1979.
Tickets for the concert, which were printed as “Ian Drury”, had to be altered by staff with biro pens.
The frontman was pictured smoking a cigarette after the gig.
Did you attend the show or remember seeing his name misspelt on the ticket?
Have you seen him play at another venue in Brighton and if so where and when?
Under the management of Andrew King and Peter Jenner – the original managers of Pink Floyd – Ian Dury and the Blockheads quickly gained a reputation as one of the top live acts on the circuit.
Also pictured, right, is Chris de Burgh when he played at the Brighton Centre in 1992.
He is an art rock performer who also writes pop-oriented material and has had several top 40 hits in the UK and two in the US.
