George Barker, off to Barnet
Albion striker prospect George Barker will team up with Dutch legend Edgar Davids after joining Barnet on loan.
Barker's switch to the League Two club until January 5 was completed before the 5pm loan transfer deadline.
The 21-year-old has yet to make an appearance for the first team but has impressed for the development squad.

Short term gain needs to be balanced with longer term benefit for the player.
Good chance for George to show if he can step up. Consistent for the DS but always doubts over his stature possibly holding him back. Now he has the opportunity to prove doubters wrong against old pros and bruisers (sorry to be less than complimentary but its not so long since we were there to see it first hand). He might get a few chances to practice his penalties I fancy.

Gus us gutted for Sparrow, I think a lot of people are.
I would guess that Gus didn't have anything to do with the payment negotiations, probably those upstairs dealt with that.
I, 'think,' I am glad that we didn't bring anyone in, a top notch striker or a quality center back would have been nice but that was never going to happen.
There are so many players that so many people think should get an extended run of games, bringing in another player would just make things even harder.
The FA cup will start for us soon and we still have plenty of league matches to get through, there will be time enough for our existing squad players to shine. A good cup run might help come january, might help to keep players as well as sell them, a double edged sword really.
