Albion make double change in attack

Stephen Dobbie and Will Hoskins will team up in attack Stephen Dobbie and Will Hoskins will team up in attack

Albion have made a double change in attack as they chase three home points against Bristol City this evening.

Stephen Dobbie and Will Hoskins come into the side at the expense of Ashley Barnes and Craig Mackail-Smith.

Fit-again Adam El-Abd has to settle for a place among the subs.

Eight-goal top scorer Steven Davies is restored to the City starting XI, who are expected to line-up in a 4-4-1-1 formation, having come off the bench in the 3-1 win at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Albion: Kuszczak; Bruno, Greer, Dunk, Painter; Bridcutt, Hammond, Orlandi; Buckley, Dobbie, Hoskins. Subs: Brezovan, Calderon, El-Abd, Crofts, Lopez, Barnes, Mackail-Smith.

Bristol City: Heaton; Foster, Bates, Fontaine, Bryan; Adomah, Elliott, Danns, Pearson; Kilkenny; Davies. Subs: Gerken, D.Wilson, Carey, Reid, Woolford, Baldock, Taylor.

I like that change. Hoskins and Dobbie to both score in 3-1 win. Buckley with the third in the 68th minute.

Ruddy road accident on way over from Bexhill, so road closed. Guess I'll have to listen to radio. Wouldn't have left CMS out myself, but interesting changes all the same. C'mon Albion, make me feel envious of all those there watching at the fantastic Amex.UTA

Both Barnes and CMS do a lot of chasing back, not so sure that Dobbie has that instinct.

CMS and Hoskins up front and Dobbie just behind them would shake things up, but that was never going to happen. I like the idea that Gus is prepared to tackle the lack of goals full on, let's hope this double change brings us change.

Nice rest for CMS before the big one.

Very brave selections by Gus. Good strength on the bench - that is a scary looking list of subs for the opposite manager to worry about.

This is a gamble, I like it, but it's a gamble.Which of the two plays the lone role, Dobbie would have further to get back if it's him and he doesn't have the speed of CMS. Hoskins could be the one but I think Dobbie is a better finisher of the two.
I guess if it goes pear shaped CMS can come on.

Man I want this to work, put some pressure on the other options.
