Poyet gags himself

Wilfried Zaha recently made his England debut Wilfried Zaha recently made his England debut

Gus Poyet has gagged himself from discussing Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha – out of respect to rival manager Ian Holloway.

Poyet claimed in The Argus recently that Albion’s in-form winger Will Buckley is better than England newcomer Zaha.

The Uruguayan was accused by Zaha of talking nonsense and Poyet has refrained from further comment in a sarcastic swipe at Palace boss Holloway ahead of tomorrow’s derby at Selhurst Park.

Holloway has hit out at Arsene Wenger after the Arsenal chief spoke about Zaha.

Poyet said: “I saw Mister Holloway very upset with other people talking about Zaha. Apparently it’s a new rule, so because it’s his rule I am going to respect it and I’m not going to talk about Zaha.

“I thought comment, good things about a player, were nice for football and the player himself but apparently not, you cannot talk about his players, so I will not talk about his players. I hope he doesn’t talk about ours.”

Vegas, something called Bein Sports is, according to the Albion website, showing the match live in USA. Hope this is of use to you and our other expat friends.

Better for Gus to have said nothing at all than this childish comment, in my opinion. Holloway is a good man and his comment about Wenger was only due to him worried that talk from Arsenal would unsettle his player. Would'nt we be the same if someone tapped up Buckley?

Wouldn't, sorry

Oh my god! How boring are you Claude Back? He's having a bit of banter, being a character, which is something that the game sadly lacks nowadays. Smile FFS!!!

Thanks for the info Dave, I will check it out. I noted on a different post that Cool Sports is also streaming the game live. I have never tried either so I will look to see how easy they are to use.

I score one point to Gus and 0 Holloway on this one, I'll also give a point to Wenger.
Any player that shows something good will always attract attention and the comments that go with that attention.

Zaha has been noticed by the national manager, he has joined the squad, why would Holloway object to a prem manager talking about him.
When Gus made his comment I think it was in part, kidology, and also a, hands off notice to others, handsoff unless you are writing a big big cheque.

Claude is so boring, he feels the need to apologise for a misplaced apostrophe. Claude you are forgiven, it's a football forum, not a grammar examination!

I know that htis sounds crazy but even though I am 6,000 miles away, I am nervous about tomorrow.
The night before every game the excitement for me grows but today, well today I am nervous.
I am ot one to buy into all that, 'hate Palace,' stuff, I happen to think they are a good team. I find that I just can't get a grip on this match, I have no idea as to how it might turn out.

Could we get a slapping, could we hand one out, right now I'll accept a boring draw.

last game against palace i ever went to me and my father had to run across hove park where my father played cricket to avoid a bunch of lunatics running at us. everyone in the park started to jog then run.....and then fear...and then it turned out, as they stopped and started chanting 'seagulls', that they were not the other lot and the police has apparently lead our fans (undercover) away to allow the palace fans to escape home safe. i was about 7. you have to love parental 'guidance'. at around 5 i was genuinely in fear of my life and wondered why dad had his moustache in the air quite casually and hands in his pockets. its all good. UTA !
