Albion hope to have Wayne Bridge and Adam El-Abd fit for Saturday's trip to Charlton - despite disruption to their training plans.

The pitches at the University of Sussex sports complex were frostbound and unplayable this morning, so the Seagulls were trying to switch their session to The Amex.

Boss Gus Poyet is desperate to have Bridge (calf) and El-Abd (hamstring) back to ease his defensive crisis.

He said: "It was a very nice situation yesterday afternoon. This morning, with this weather, maybe it has changed a little bit.

"We are trying to rearrange training somewhere else, because unfortunately the training ground is not available, it's completely frozen.

"If you have been injured and you are going to get back to normal training and the pitch is like that it's not the best situation.

"We'll see if Steve Winterburn, the groundsman, allows us to come to The Amex. We'll take that opportunity, because of course we need to make sure that Adam and Wayne Bridge can train normally and test themselves.

"I think they are going to play. I want to be sure, to see them running and playing, everything you need to do in a game.

"We are going to do a few things which we think will be enough to make sure they are fit for Saturday."
