Albion endured another frustrating afternoon at The Amex as they had to settle for a goalless draw at home to Nottingham Forest.

Gus Poyet's side were unable to make the most of their first half superiority and were thwarted by visting keeper Lee Camp as they pushed for a late winner following an uneventful second half.

The game was watched by a record attendance at The Amex of 26,684.

Albion have now gone three games without a win ahead of Tuesday's home clash with Millwall. They remain eighth in the table, three points outside the play-offs.

Albion created a host of chances in the first half but lacked a cutting edge.

Inigo Calderon clipped the outside of a post early on before Will Hoskins failed to convert a hat-trick of chances, the best of them when he acrobatically fired over the bar when Will Buckley headed a Wayne Bridge cross back across goal.

Craig Mackail-Smith twice went close after good runs, sandwiching another chance for Calderon whose shot was tipped over the bar for a corner by Forest keeper Camp.

The half finished with Forest enjoying their best chance as Billy Sharp sidefooted a Chris Cohen cross against the face of the crossbar.

Adam El-Abd made an important challenge which was enough to put off Dexter Blackstock in a dangerous position in the opening moments of the second half.

Buckley came in for some rough treatment and replacement left-back Greg Halford, a half-time substitute for Dan Harding, was twice spoken to after being booked.

The home side were not so fluent in the second half and as the chances dried up Forest came back into the game.

With nine minutes remaining Albion finally fashioned their first meaningful chance of the second half as substitute Kazenga LuaLua's low shot was saved at his near post by Camp at the expense of a corner.

There was an even better chance with four minutes remaining when Halford stumbled, allowing Buckley in but Camp pushed his shot over the bar.
