Albion are offering fans who bought a ticket for today's postponement at Blackburn a free pie and drink at a future game at The Amex.

The Seagulls have been swift to make the gesture to travelling supporters after the match at Ewood Park was not called off until 12.30pm.

Chief executive Paul Barber said: "We really appreciate our fans' great loyalty and fantastic support for the club just three days before Christmas. As a token of our gratitude we would like to offer fans who bought a Blackburn ticket a bite to eat and a drink on us at a future home game.

"We're very sorry that so many fans made such a long journey only to suffer from the late but unavoidable postponement of the game. Unfortunately, we weren’t aware of a pitch inspection until very late in the morning. It took place at 12.30pm - once many of us had already arrived in the north west.

"As soon as we were aware of the referee’s decision to postpone the match we made the announcement to inform our travelling supporters as quickly as possible. We thank everyone for making the huge effort and hope everyone has a safe journey home. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas."

Original tickets for the rearranged trip to Blackburn, on a date to be fixed, will be valid but fans unable to attend can claim a full refund on production of their ticket by visiting either of the club's ticket offices, located at The Amex or in Queens Road, Brighton.
