ALBION hitman Craig Mackail-Smith is turning a blind eye to renewed speculation over his future.

Norwich were recently linked with a fresh bid to sign the Seagulls’ ten-goal top scorer during the January transfer window after almost landing him in August.

Mackail-Smith said: “It’s the same every year. For me I just let it go and don’t pay attention to it.

“I’ve got a job to do here, to score goals and push the team up the table, so I’ll be focusing on that.

“If anything was to arise then the gaffer would come and let me know what was happening and we’d discuss it and go from there.

“January will be nuts as usual but we’ll just have to see how it goes.”

Liam Bridcutt, Albion’s influential defensive midfielder, has also been linked with Norwich.

Mackail-Smith said: “He has been fantastic. Every game he has grown and got better. “He is still very young and I think he has got a lot to offer Brighton and bigger clubs.

“It’s great to have him, because he does such a vital job which probably isn’t as glamorous as strikers and wingers.

“He breaks up play, he helps the back four and he gives the ball to players that can go and hurt teams, so he is a massive part of our team.”
