DETECTIVES investigating the killing of Clacton teenager Jay Whiston have been searching for the murder weapon at a train station.
Officers from British Transport Police were scouring the Hythe Station area in Colchester yesterday in a bid to find new clues in the unsolved murder.
A police spokesman said: “Officers from Essex Police are working with their counterparts from British Transport Police as they carry out a search for a murder weapon linked to the Jay Whiston murder."
Jay, of Aster Close, Clacton, was stabbed outside a house party in Marlowe Way last September.
He died a short time later in hospital.
Nine people arrested in relation to the murder have had their bail extended until March 22.
