Crawley match postponed

The Argus: Crawley Town's pitch this morning Crawley Town's pitch this morning

Crawley Town's match at home to Carlisle tomorrow has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

The decision was made following a 10am pitch inspection this morning.

Chief executive Richard Low said: "An area at the southern end of the pitch is still frozen and not likely to improve between now and kick off time, even though it has been covered since early in the week.

"The referee also took into consideration a very detailed forecast and had a briefing with our Safety Officer because of his obvious concerns about access to the stadium if, as is forecast, it continues to snow heavily.

"It is disappointing but we had to make an early decision with Carlisle travelling such a long distance."

Shame but right decision in the end. Richie and the sqaud are now enjoying an enforced mid winter break. (Two and half weeks !)
Hopefully the squad can use that time to bed in the new players, caress any injuries and generally rest up before tackling the run in to the play offs.

A quick peek at the table this evening reflects that there one probable play off place up for grabs. Why cant that be CTFC come the end of April !!
