Summary

  • Full-time: Blackburn 1 Albion 1
  • Vicente starts in place of CMS
  • No Ulloa, Dicker returns
  • Rhodes scores penalty
  • David hits late leveller
  • Three pages in The Argus tomorrow

9:44pm

That's it, 1-1 full-time. Albion did not really deserve a point but we will certainly take it. Late penalty coolly dispatched by David for his fourth goal of the season. Thanks for joining me.

9:42pm

Albion equalise in 96th minute as David is fouled by Goodwillie for a penalty which DAVID coolly dispatches

9:35pm

Will be 5 mins added time. It's been a poor game

9:33pm

And another fine save from Tomasz to tip away a goalbound Rhodes header

9:27pm

Another good save from Kuszczak to deny Kazim-Richards. I'm afraid I just can't see where an equaliser is coming form.

9:24pm

First shot on target for Albion and first save home keeper Jake Kean has had to make, the effort coming from Hoskins. Buckley and  Bridcutt have joined Barnes in the book by the way

9:17pm

Kazim-Richards shot just past the post from 25 yards.

9:13pm

Martin Olsson shot harmlessly over the bar. Hoskins on for Barnes

9:08pm

Blackburn's Martin Olsson booked although ref initially called over his twin brother Markus. Still nothing to test the home keeper

9:03pm

Double change for Albion, Buckley on for Vicente and CMS on for Orlandi.

8:57pm

Crowd 12,230 (about 350 Albion but to be confirmed)

8:56pm

No changes for the second half but Albion need to alter something because it's not working at the moment

8:50pm

Second half about to get under way ...

8:38pm

Just remind you we are subject to a three-minute reporting delay under Football League rules. I'm tweeting too which is not subject to any restrictions @HowardGriggs

8:37pm

Albion are playing four Spaniards and a Spanish style frontline. The football is pretty but the Blackburn keeper has not been called into action yet

8:35pm

That's half-time. A big blow to Albion as they fall behind just before the interval. It was the linesman who signalled a penalty. Plenty of work to do now

8:34pm

Blackburn take the lead as Adam El-Abd is penalised for a foul on Pedersen and RHODES dispatches the penalty

8:24pm

Kuszczak makes another fine save, this time pushing away a shot from Pedersen. There is little between the teams but Albion's keeper has twice done well now

8:19pm

Blackburn's free-kick conceded count rising quick. They are fast into the tackle, trying to stop Albion from playing

8:13pm

Vicente tees up Bridcutt who floats a shot past the far upright

8:11pm

Barnes header off target after strong run by Bridge

8:05pm

First chance to Blackburn and Kuszczak makes a good save low down to push Lowe's shot wide for a corner. 15mins

8:03pm

10 mins played. Vicente showing some nice touches, dropping deep from central striker role

7:57pm

Albion knocking the ball around well but nothing happened yet here

7:52pm

No chances so far but we will have to watch for the pace of Markus Olsson who looks lively

7:51pm

Looks like 4-1-2-3 so far with David, Vicente and Barnes as the front three

7:47pm

The game is under way, Albion kicking towards their own supporters in the first half ...

7:44pm

Teams are on the way out ...

7:12pm

As soon as they start I will let you know exactly how Albion are lining up. Kazim-Richards plays for Blackburn who include twins Martin and Markus Olsson (not Magnus as first typed!)

7:03pm

Blackburn:  Kean; Kane, Dann, Hanley, Martin Olsson; Pedersen, Lowe, Murphy, Magnus Olsson; Kazim-Richards, Rhodes. Subs: Givet, Fabio Nunes, Dunn, Nuno Gomes, Rochina, Goodwillie, Usai.

6:59pm

Two changes for Blackburn as Magnus Olsson and Morten Gamst Pedersen return in place of Simon Vukcevic and Ruben Rochina

6:53pm

It looks like Vicente will play as the central striker in place of CMS, which was how it finished at Birmingham.

6:51pm

Albion:  Kuszczak; Calderon, Greer, El-Abd, Bridge; Bridcutt, Dicker, Orlandi; David, Vicente, Barnes. Subs: Painter, Hammond, LuaLua, Buckley, Hoskins,Mackail-Smith, Ankergren.

6:50pm

Vicente starts along with Dicker in place of CMS and Hammond. Still no Ulloa

6:44pm

There is no team news yet but we are expecting it shortly. Also no news from Albion yet on whether Ulloa has received his international clearance.

6:42pm

Thanks for joining me. Let's hope I will be able to tell you about an Albion win at Blackburn tonight. The temperature was -3 when we arrived here at 5pm but no falling snow.

Very surprising team selection. Are we playing a 1-4-6 formation? Looks like Gus is hoping to keep it 0-0 for the first hour and then bring on a winger/striker to try and nick it in the last 30 mins.

You don't think Orlandi, David, Vicente, Barnes is attacking enough? Are you Ossie Ardiles? :-)

Barnes the front man with Vicente behind him, not that surprising, well not to me it isn't.

I would guess he'll play Barnes up the middle as an out and out striker with Vicente in the hole.

The Dagger clearly didn't enjoy his previous attempts playing the lone striker.

Could be interesting.

Re Ulloa - a bit concerning as it means that he is not yet signed! From what I understand his registration can't be done until the clearance is received.

Weird that we had the similar problem with Harley from Welsh FA!

The report says Vicente as a central striker, which would suggest he is playing as such !

Yep I did but it was just me trying to be a manager.

The starting of Barnes should not be a surprise, he is scoring goals right now. Vicente starting is clever, he can win a game in the first 45 and I am sure it is better to have him not chasing a result but rather, setting one up.

Hoskins will probabaly replace him at some point. I cna only see CMS coming on if Branes gets injured and has to be subbed out.

I really don't care how many Spaniards are playing or how they are playing---only thing is they are not scoring or, seemingly, causing their goalie any problmes. Hope Gus tells them to go on the attack---like Southampton did last night---OK they did not score but they really tried. COME ON BRIGHTON!!!!!!

phew!!! Life saver---but still BHA did not play well---something is not right we should be playing class football and scoring goals with the players we have--Gus we have to play different and give the players freedom to do their own thing. Players will be begining to get frustrated. Hope Ulloa plays soon!!!
