Crawley game called off

Crawley's clash with Preston North End at Broadfield Stadium tonight has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

The club had been confident the game would go ahead earlier in the day but persistent rain made the pitch unplayable.

Both managers and referee Simon Hooper tried to bounce a ball in the centre circle without success and the decision was made to postpone the game at 6.30pm.

Reds had already gone 17 days without action and will now have to wait until Saturday's televised clash with Swindon to play again.

Bounce a ball? Is this basketball then? Not perfect but was playable and give some thought to those who travelled from Preston surely?

Thats a real shame and thoughts go out to the travelling PNE Fans. Hopefully most of you will consider travelling back down for the new date.

CTFC now face a bit of the back log (as described in the Argus today). I am sure that players and management will be looking forward to the challenge.

All CTFC eyes now on Swindon on the box late Saturday afternoon. (weather permitting)
