Albion hope to nurse the best out of Vicente (From The Argus)

Does anyone know exactly what vicente's fitness/Heath problem is? Gus said he couldn't walk after the rovers game. Is it arthritis?

Although disappointing for his fans Gus has stated categorically he can't play every 90 minutes so I guess we have to accept that, and that fitness is the reason (rather than some bizarre tactical decision) (although you'd think any professional sportsman, even one coming back from injury, should be able to cope, it's not as if he would be expected to run round all game like CMS).

A compromise could be a start for home games, and as a sub for away games?

Vicente is quaility!! if we can get him to play in all of our last games to the end of the season, whether thats 20mins, 45mins or all game than thats got to be our target.

Vincente the best player we have ever had.We must look after him and he will win us games.Gus knows the best way to treat him.

He was exhausted. Vicente is obviously not 100% match fit or match sharp, so to compleat 90 minutes was a fantastic effort, especially given that he was still the best player on the park. That was his first 90 minutes for a very long time,but he will get fitter, stronger and sharper with every week that passes. Can't wait for Tuesday, I would imagine Vicente will be a second half sub, ready for another start at home to Burnley.

Its this simple Vicente Rodriguez is the most talented footballer to wear a Brighton & Hove Albion shirt in the last 112 years so just enjoy it because players like him dont pitch up here every day.

After the wait, we will be pleased if Albion can keep him fit to play for however long the guy feels he can play.
He sure frightens the hell out of the opposition.

Many years ago I used to climb ladders every day, I cleaned windows, I was as fit as a butcher's dog.
After that I spent 9 years pouring concrete, normally 18 truck loads a day would be pumped in, non stop work. I was in even better shape.
During this time I spent a day horse riding, had a week off, I couldn't walk for about 2 days and I was hurting for about 5 days.

I feel for Vicente.

Yesterday I suggested that Brighton perhaps should consider taking, (if we could get him,) Krisztian Adorjan on loan from Liverpool. I have now read more about him and I have changed my mind, today I think we should try to buy him, around 800k should get him.

Yes he is young but I bet he starts for Liverpool sometime during next season. Check him out if you have the time. With the DS seemingly moving to a, buy better young and talented players than we have in the past this lad seems a perfect fit. I think he could possibly do a job for us right now in the absense of Hoskins.

For all the doubts ,talk etc( many me included ) We need him in the team for as long as he can take it till the end of the season. All credit to him for now proving so many on here wrong as i noticed he had a smile a number of times on tuesday.

Loan deal with agreement to buy, much the same as the Dobbie deal.

Not having Micky Thomas took the p out of the club. Jimmy Case yes different class, Deano yes although got better when he left and never saw Bobby Smith so can't comment.

I would add Joe Corrigan and Peter Grummitt between the sticks though. Best keepers we had til TK came along

Forgot our current wayne bridge too . Now i have had more time to think about this the more complex it becomes,do you rate what the player has done for the albion? what they have achieved in our shirt ,before and after as well ? there is a case for all you have mentioned clean sheet. For pure skill with the ball,without it and as an attacker vicente has it for me but not including other criteria.
Open to all views on this subject.
the fact vicente was due to go to chesea for a reported 30 million but for surprise,surprise injury must take some beating. Mata was his under study.!!! perhaps he could join us when he is fed up at chelsea !

Micky Thomas never turned up. I remember games when he was on the team sheet when he was on his way up north.

Foster was over rated and ended up a Luton, Gary Stevens was far better than him.

Martin Chivers played several times for the Albion but it's what they did before that counts. I just missed Jimmy Langley but he went to Fulham and then played for England.
Much as I loved Fred, I could not put him in my top grouping. Not sure about Gary Williams also, although an excellent player. Phil Beal was for me, as good as Gary Stevens! Willie Bell was a brilliant left back. Could go on forever so I will stop, save to say that top of my list has to be Lawrenson.

Thanks Wiseman. Didn't see some of those you mentioned play but as defenders go lawro for us and after at Liverpool the most consistent over many years especially as at Liverpool he played many games out of position at left back. Gary Stevens potentially was better but had his career cut short at spurs due to injury ,sadly. So we will never know what he could have achieved.
The keepers mentioned also deserving
candidates for top ten as is TK.

You have a very unhealthy obsession will Will Hoskins. My 12 year old daughter has noticed him lately and she was gutted when he was stretchered off. Perhaps you feel the same and are just going thru a stage of denial. He is a very handsome lad after all....

If you want to take what a players previous club says or thinks about a player as fact, then Vicente's injury problems are in his mind, that is what Valencia said.
Personally, I think he has had genuine injury problem(s), I also think Hoskins is a player worth hanging onto and that you are a retard.

Just to clarify, Vicente is not currently believed to be injured, he is just fatigued with 90 minutes of playing as he is not match fit
Valencia, or staff from Valencia did suggest that perhaps his injury was in his mind, and then, to paraphrase, they got rid of the vile freeloader quickly.
I don't know if Hoskins will score in the numbers required to make the difference, but I reckon he has the potential to do so, Gus must have thought so too, at least when he bought him. If he has attitude problems as you have suggested, then Gus has to do his job as a manager and correct that, it seems that Gus was happy with Hoskins at the moment though, so maybe he has already taken care of the problems no-one but you were aware of.
If you have earned a penny from football it must have been via the pools.

I don't know if Hoskins will score in the numbers required to make the difference, but I reckon he has the potential to do so, Gus must have thought so too, at least when he bought him. If he has attitude problems as you have suggested, then Gus has to do his job as a manager and correct that, it seems that Gus was happy with Hoskins at the moment though, so maybe he has already taken care of the problems no-one but you were aware of.
