Ulloa gives Albion something different says Oatway

Leo Ulloa has made his presence felt at Albion Leo Ulloa has made his presence felt at Albion

LEO Ulloa has been praised for the impact he has made at Albion.

The Argentinian target man clinched Tuesday’s 2-0 win at leaders Cardiff deep into injury time.

It was his first goal in the Championship and second in five appearances after scoring on his debut against Arsenal in the FA Cup.

But it is not just Ulloa’s goals that have made him an instant hit for the Seagulls since his £2 million move last month from Spanish club Almeria.

Coach Charlie Oatway told The Argus: “Ulloa over the last few games has brought us something different. He has added a little bit more firepower but relief as well.

“You saw how many balls he headed away against Cardiff. He was in the box defending for us. He’s an extra man and he’s a presence. He kept their two centre-halves busy for big periods of the game, so he adds a lot to us.

“He has fitted in so well. He works so hard and he’s a gentleman, respectful to everyone. It could not have happened to a nicer guy.”

Oatway also says Albion’s multi-national dressing room is free of cliques.

He revealed: “When we are eating our pre-match meals the Spanish lads are not sitting on their own. You’ll have Bruno, for example, sitting with a couple of the English boys.”

It sure looks as though Leo is shaping up to be the forward we have been craving for. I fancy him to score two tomorrow and an other one or two from elsewhere.

Love the international diversity of our squad, I'm sure Leo will be successful I like his balance and touch, just needs to watch the ball and not the player. When he is used to the physical side and what he can and cannot get away with, the goals will come, certain of it. 4.1 tomorrow !

Wondering who is going to pay!!!!!!
I mentioned after the Cardiff game how the BBC seems to avoid our team and today you will be pleased to read that, and I quote :- "Brighton could find themselves back in the play-off zone they vacated four months ago, if they can follow up Tuesday's shock 2-0 away win over runaway leaders Cardiff"
Who writes this utter rubbish?
Anyone else SHOCKED????

If he could show real prowess in the air in the box then we may have found a replacement centre forward. Still a little naive for me but great potential.

It was a shock though. They had lost once at home before us and were 8 points clear at the top of the league

Should be corrected he has only played 4 games not 5.

It will be interesting to see whether Leo proves a better bet in the long-term than some of our other potential targets, such as Chris Wood.

Wood has made a huge impact for Leicester in the short-term, but he was used to the rough and tumble of Championship football. Leo is learning with every game.

Hoping for two or three goals tomorrow and, more importantly, three points. UTA!!!

Dear Saraman, im pretty sure footballers have a sense of humour and even some of them to have the intellect to discuss topical issues over a glass of mineral water and a spag bol. I was merely jesting with Bexhill Dave! Enjoy your Equine pie and pint tomorrow at The Amex....JOKE!!! X

Fair enough, but it has been very cold. Not really surprised he said it.

Did he say that he's finding it difficult to adjust his game to the cold? or did he say it was bloody freezing?

Last seasons Burnley home game will go down as one of my all time bad memories. After 15 mins it was 8 v.10 outfield players after the two Brighton sending off's. I spent the rest of the game seething about wanting my money back having been robbed of a contest because of subjective decisions and the lack of 'sin bin' regulations.

I want variable length 'Sin Bins' for appropriate offences with appropriate disadvantage to the adjudged offending team and I want a discretionary 2nd, 18 yard penalty spot for dubious penalty claims. (Rather than a free goal out of completely nothing.)

I also would like goal line technogogy but that will never come! Sorry...... did you say it is.......?

In the meantime Burnley, nothing personal, but I really want to screw off you back the 3 points you were gifted last season. I really, really want them reallly BAD!!!

Agree, been waiting to bury this lot since last seasons debacle, I remember an over reaction that got Barnes sent off, and there player grabbed him by the neck and didn't even get a yellow card. Long way back to Lancashire with nothing to show for their troubles.

It might be something to do with having lived in Spain for a couple of years. It remains warmer there than the Costa del Marine Parade despite climate change.
