Leadership skills, a positive attitude and setting a good example have earned a Barnet scout a community award.
Katherine Broderick, 13, of 6th Friern Barnet Scout group received a Jack Petchey achievement award, which are given to people who do good deeds in the community.
Katharine is an assistant patrol leader who has completed a 12-mile hike carrying a tent, stove and food, as well as a walk in the Peak District during her time with the scouts.
