Ulloa was "sensible" signing says City boss
11:00am Tuesday 5th March 2013 in Sport By Brian Owen
Leo Ulloa
Albion have made a “sensible” move in adding Leo Ulloa to their striking options.
That is the view of Bristol City manager Sean O’Driscoll as he prepares his side to face the Seagulls and their hat-trick striker at Ashton Gate tonight.
O’Driscoll has already fallen victim to a forward player signed for a seven-figure fee by the Seagulls.
He was in charge of the Doncaster side beaten by two goals from £1million man Will Buckley in the first league match at The Amex last season.
O’Driscoll admits the Seagulls have moved on since that day.
Ulloa, buoyed by three goals and a powerful performance against Huddersfield on Saturday, will offer another challenge.
O’Driscoll said: “We have had the opportunity to watch two DVDs.
“He gives them another option. He enables them to play a bit higher up the pitch because technically he is very good.
“He gives them the ability to probably score from set-plays more than they had before.
“Their team is evolving. Their style will remain the same but the personnel are changing and he has added something to the group.
“They have the options of playing him as the archetypal target man or Craig Mackail-Smith, who everyone knows and the way he plays. He (Mackail-Smith) is a threat as well.
“The combination gives them the ability to mix and match as and when which is you what you want as a squad.”
O’Driscoll, speaking to player.bcfc.co.uk, added: “I think that is a sensible move and having the ability to do it and the contacts to find that type of player is probably what Brighton have evolved to.”

Big match tonight, a real tester. These are the games I worry about and I won't stop worrying untill we have a two goal lead.
Recently City have had a good run of home form and as we know they need the points. On recent form City would not be at the bottom of the table and just like us they have some momentum working for them.

We certainly need to be at our best Vegas. Our away form is good and lets hope it contiues that way for the next 3 games.
City are looking for 5 home wins in a row and are only 2 points from safety, this is no walkover.

How odd to hear so much from an opposing manager about those he is about to face. Or perhaps it isn't, perhaps it's just the way he speaks in such glowing terms that is surprising me, anyway what ever it is he is right.

Looking forward to a good game and result tonight....

Four home wins on the bounce and going for five, they must have a good deal of confidence.
How do you see tonight's match panning out?

Dr Balhead, the City keeper, during a interview with a local paper, was very upbeat about their chances tonight, he sees this game as the challenge they faced when entertaining Watford, they beat Watford.

I guess the above could suggest draw and objectively considering we need 20 points from a possible 36, that might not be so bad, but I think most fans feel a win is achievable. Personally I fancy a tight 1-0 win sealed by a Matty Upson header....

I have been trying to resist but I can't sorry... surprised we have not heard from Carter_Cooldancer since his comment after the Burnley game, when just because Ulloa had missed a chance he felt the need to "share his concerns", suggest he "does not have the finishing capability" and claimed he had not won an attacking header (Arsenal aside) for us... then when I took him to task he questioned MY intelligence..
Common Carter - what do think of our Leo now ???
I see he is yet to reply

Eddy, if the game is being shown in Europe then you should be able to get a web cast of the match.
