A goal from former Albion striker Craig Davies was at the origin of Bolton’s amazing charge up the Championship.

They aim to continue it by secured the fifth successive win which would take them just points behind Albion today.

Dougie Freedman’s men were 20th in the table and 1-0 down at home to Burnley just four weeks ago today.

Then Davies came off the bench to head them level and fellow sub David Ngog scored a superbly taken winner as he redirected Jay Spearing’s shot.

So began a run of five wins and two draws from seven games which have taken Bolton up 11 places to ninth.

Ngog is expected to start up front in a 4-4-2 formation today, possibly alongside Marvin Sordell.

Centre-back Craig Dawson, on loan from West Brom, has been outstanding at both ends of the park in Bolton’s recent run.

He has helped shore up defence alongside Zat Knight and has also scored four goals in seven outings.

Look out for the England under-21 and Team GB international getting on the end of corners curled in deep by Spearing.
