Albion will pose 'unique' test

Barnsley have been warned they face a “unique” test against Albion tonight.

The Seagulls travel to Oakwell for a rearranged Championship fixture knowing a win would take them back into the play-off places.

They are aiming for a first win in three games while their hosts have taken just one point from a possible nine.

The Tykes, beaten 5-0 at Manchester City in the FA Cup on Saturday, have slipped to the bottom of the Championship but success tonight could take them two points clear of the drop zone.

Boss David Flitcroft reckons they are in for an intriguing test tonight.

In his programme notes, he says of Albion: “Their team have been in incredible form and play a unique style of football that reflects their manager – classy, punchy, stylish and that has character.”

Barnsley moved out of the bottom three and dumped Wolves into the drop zone when they beat them here three weeks ago.

Since then they have lost 5-3 at Bristol City and 3-2 here against Bolton before scoring late to snatch a 1-1 draw at Burnley last Tuesday.

A, 'unique test,' against what might be a, 'unique,' Brighton lineup.

I Don’t see it as a must win game. A draw tonight will do if we then get the win on Sunday.

If we can't beat Barnsley do you really think we can beat Palace, yeah a win tonight is a must.

I'm with Vegas on this one.

We absolutely must win tonight.

With the next game at home to a very talented Palace side followed then by a trip to what looks like our biggest challenger for a play off spot, a win tonight is a must.

With a win we potentially go 5th and put Palace under a bit of pressure on Sunday as we could be breathing down their necks. On top of this it adds a whole heap of pressure on Leicester.

Here's hoping for a positive line up tonight. Gus has stated we need 6 wins... What better opportunity than against a team that's bottom and just been thrashed.

Come on lads.

I agree with Vegas, we need to win this match.
If we have any chance of the playoffs we should be able to win a match like this.
We can't think a draw is acceptable here!

Looking forward to listening to this on Sussex radio.
Ulloa and Buckley to score are my predictions.

Things could be worse, a Welsh ladies team were beaten 43-0 last weekend . They have also conceded 200 plus goals in their last 10 matches. Now that's a problem.
