Albion make four changes

Albion have rung the changes again as they bid to end their week on the road in style.

The Seagulls make four changes for tonight’s rearranged game at bottom-of-the-table Barnsley.

That follows five alterations at Bolton on Saturday, when they lost 1-0.

Ashley Barnes, who was sent-off at The Reebok, kicks off his ban and Wayne Bridge, who went off early on his return from a hamstring injury, is not risked at Oakwell tonight.

Andrew Crofts, who was also returning from a hamstring problem, and Vicente also make way.

In come Inigo Calderon at left-back, Dean Hammond in midfield and Will Buckley and Andrea Orlandi further forward.

Barnsley make five changes to the side beaten 5-0 in the FA Cup at Manchester City on Saturday.

Barnsley: Steele; Cranie, Wiseman, Delap, Kennedy; Perkins, Mellis, Etuhu, O'Brien; O'Grady, Scotland. Subs: Lidakevicius, Hassell, Cywka, Tunnicliffe, Dawson, Dagnall, Harewood.

Albion: Kuszczak; Bruno, El-Abd, Upson, Calderón; Bridcutt, Hammond, David López; Buckley, Orlandi, Ulloa. Subs: Ankergren, Greer, Crofts, Dicker, LuaLua, Forster-Caskey, Barker.

Vicente? Everything else good and expected. LuaLua really ought to come on today of we're not 2 or 3 up.

Vicente rested for Sunday, no point losing him for rest of season,

Well it wouldn't be "normal" of Gus without multiple changes now would it?

The bench look a bit lightweight to say the least, but nowt much we can do about that. Vicente at home again in front of the fire though !

Personally I hope Jake Forster-Caskey gets some time and maybe, just maybe, one day we can forget bloody Vicente and start cheering JFC. The new Wiltshire IMO.

Bit concerned that with the exception of Ulloa for CMS this is the same side that failed to register a shot last Tuesday. Surprised there are quite so many changes bearing in mind how well we played on Saturday, although it looks like a couple are caused by injuries to Vicente and Bridge.

That'll do for me.

If this team has been sent out with the right message then I feel 3 points should be ours this evening with potential icing on the cake of being 5th.

To be honest, this is the strongest and best balanced lineup we can field without Bridge. The biggest concern, of course, is not having a recognised striker to bring off the bench.

Having said that, we all know that if we go a goal behind we aren't winning anyway (yet to do so under Gus) so it's the same plan as normal; keep it tight early on and try to nick a goal as the game progresses.

Gus has kept a little fire power back for sunday, and that was to be expected.

Two DS strikers on the bench, it would be so handy if we could get a couple in first 45 so we can think about getting Ulloa off and one of the lads on.

Barnsley won't lay down, just praying this is not another Bristol type match.

Surely only ONE DS striker on the bench?

Still, I expect this team to do better than they did about Bristol City.

*fingers crossed for a 2-0 win*

I like the lineup with Buckley partnering Ulloa up front. Bench a bit light but if they go out with the right mindset no reason we can't take the points and go back into the top 6. C'mmon Seagulls

Half time. Pretty awful so far. Need someone who can get stuck in a trip the ref up.

Bye bye play off's for the second year in a row.

Cannot see us beating Palace. Murray will want at least two! :)

Might be eating my words in 45 mins, lets hope so :)

77 games under Gus without a come-from-behind win. Could tonight be the night? Not from the sound of it.

I am beginning to think the Powers that be are making it as hard as possible. How many times have we been mugged by the ref and his assistants. If Johnny Cantor says we have been the victims of poor decisions 2 games running something must be going on.We still have a great chance at 5th and 6th.It is hard enough listening it must be painful to watch live
