Bridge on course for Palace
2:37pm Thursday 14th March 2013 in Sport By Andy Naylor
Wayne Bridge, expects to be fit to face Palace
Albion's defensive crisis is set to be eased by the return of Wayne Bridge from hamstring problems for Sunday's derby against Crystal Palace.
The former England left-back is certain he will be fit for the Eagles' visit to The Amex and Vicente could be back in contention too but right-back Bruno (calf and Achilles) will be missing.
Manager Gus Poyet revealed: "Bridgey is 100 per cent sure he will be there. Probably Vicente as well will be there. We'll see. Tomorrow is the confirmation day."
Inigo Calderon is likely to replace Bruno, while captain Gordon Greer takes over from the suspended Adam El-Abd at centre-half.
Albion have recalled left-back Marcos Painter from his loan spell at Bournemouth as defensive cover.
Sidelined top scorer Craig Mackail-Smith is expected to be at the Palace game after surgery in Finland on Monday to repair a ruptured Achilles, which will rule him out until pre-season.
Poyet said: "Everything went fine. He is coming back before the weekend."

If Vicente is also available that would be a bonus.
Whitmore, well if he is as good as some might think then he would be a good addition to the DS. We do seem to be upping the caliber of those we are signing for the DS.
I am losing interest in the possibility of getting a couple of loan strikers. We might find the money but the insistence of the loanees playing every game is too much for me.
If we got two loanees from two clubs that would mean that three managers are deciding our line up, totally unacceptable to my mind, and what would that mean to Ulloa.
Two loan deals with no strings attached is what we need and it appears those deals are not forthcoming.

It's the, 'big one,' so my excitement levels are rising.
We know that they are a good team and that they know how to score, that somewhat tempers my excitement levels.
We are short on fire power but it looks like we will have bridge back and maybe Vicente too, levels are rising again.
We need to win six matches, so says Gus, this is the, 'new first,' of those six, now thinking about the Bristol and Barsley results, levels on the dip now.
Palace don't have the number of senior players missing that we have, dipping further.
The manager of Palace has said that he wants to keep us out of the top six on sunday, levels soaring back up, bring it on pal.

Just a question how will GM be received on Sunday? Is he a hero for what he did for Albion or a villain for going to palace for more money?
For what it's worth he is an Albion hero, who ended up being the pantomime villain.
He had a great offer, we told him to take it and he reluctantly did.
At the end of the day £11k a week was good business for a league 1 player and they may only have one chance in their career.
I know he went to Palace but he is no different to Bobby Zamora and we wouldn’t give him a hard time.
When he scores against us, which is quite a lot, he never celebrates. He even avoided taking the penalty against us in the last game because he didn’t want to make it a hat trick.
He should be applauded at the Amex really.

One or two posters have mentioned the renewal of their season tickets. What's all that about or have I missed something? We don't know what division we are going to be in.
Renewal if you want to have the same seat has to be signed up for I think by the end of the month hence why it might be topical.

Wait for it if they get promoted prices have been fixed.
