Albion keeper Tomasz Kuszczak has pulled out of the Poland squad with a back injury sustained in Sunday's victory against Crystal Palace.

He was named for World Cup qualifiers at home to Ukraine on Friday and San Marino next Tuesday but was in obvious discomfort when he left the pitch and will now stay behind for treatment.

Albion have until Saturday week to make sure Kuszczak is fit for the visit to play-off rivals Nottingham Forest.

Oh sugar, I do pray that he is OK for the Forest game. No qualms about him being absent for Poland. Just want him fit for us. If I remember correctly it was Poland that denied England a world cup place at Wembley (I can't remember, about 1974/78 ish). Brian Clough I recall called their goalkeeper a clown.

Good news IMHO for Seagulls, shame for TK, as I'm sure he would love to play for Poland.
Get fit for the Forest match please.

Hoping that this is just a precautionary move and not due to some "intricate specific medical and pre-planned fitness programme", that rules him out of playing for his country.

Sadly I do remember it......1973, Jan Tomasesky (or something like that), Shilton diving over the ball at the other end and then chance after chance after chance and that **** goalie. Still upsets me now!

Anyway, I hope it is just a precaution for Kuszczak. All seemed really innocuous when it happened. He is a key man in the same way as Bridcutt, Bridge and Ulloa so hope he is resting up as we speak.
