Jordan and Nash lead Sussex to victory in Dubai
11:00am Thursday 21st March 2013 in Sport By Steve Hollis
Chris Nash made an unbeaten 76 to lead Sussex to victory over Lancashire
Chris Jordan made a big impact on his Sussex debut to help the Sharks ease to an eight-wicket victory in their opening Emirates Airline T20 clash against Lancashire in Dubai today.
Jordan took 3-14 as Lancashire slipped to 68-5 before recovering to post 118-9 from their alloted overs. James Anyon posted figures of 3-24 on a rare T20 outing while left-arm chinaman bowler Michael Rippon took 2-31.
There was also a positive return for left-arm seamer Lewis Hatchett who claimed 1-8 from three overs in his first match since having surgery on both knees during the winter. Trialist Andrew Miller finished wicketless with figures of 0-23 from three overs.
Sussex made short work of chasing down Lancashire's modest total thanks to an unbeaten 76 from opener Chris Nash. Joe Gatting - who had kept wicket instead of Ben Brown - joined Nash to put on 71 for the third wicket as Sussex reached their target with 16 balls to spare, Gatting unbeaten on 20.
Sussex take on an MCC side featuring Rahul Dravid and Shaun Tait tomorrow morning ahead of a potential final in the afternoon.
