MARTIN Lawrence seeks political capital for issues he has suddenly got interested in the Chase Division Malvern.
It has been deliberate policy since 2010 by Conservative Worcestershire to give all county councillors a yearly allowance of £10,000 to supportjust such ventures as he mentioned.
Out of this budget, the 30mph flashing warning signs have also been placed where individual councillors wanted – tangible and visible local benefits from Conservative county policy.
This is part ofthe much derided “Localism” agenda working in action, which has seen local communities everywhere in Worcestershire benefit (including, of course, treatment of such illnesses as diabetes and Parkinson’s).
Conservatives nationally are also maintaining expenditure on the NHS, which was a specific pledge by David Cameron.
