Reds boss aims to strengthen
Crawley boss Richie Barker remains hopeful of strengthening his squad before the start of the new season.
Barker has brought in James Hurst and Andy Drury during the summer but negotiations with other targets have stalled due to financial issues.
Crawley have held discussions with out-of-contract Cheltenham midfielder Marlon Pack and Swindon winger Luke Rooney but have been unable to conclude any deals.
Reds kick off their League One campaign at home to Coventry City in 12 days’ time and Barker said: “I would like to have someone in by the start of the season but there are a few things that need to fall into place.
“The budget is pretty tight so it is a case of making sure things balance out. I’m hoping that doesn’t mean we’ll have to let anybody go but there is always the possibility that might happen.”
Barker has decided not to offer triallist James Stinson a deal but will continue to monitor the progress of youngsters Jordan Adekunle, Abdul Adegbola and Tope Fowodu who all came on in the second half of the 5-0 victory over Burgess Hill on Saturday.
