Sussex game remains under investigation for match-fixing
Sussex have declined to comment on reports that the ECB is still investigating allegations of match-fixing surrounding one of their games.
The ICC’s anti-corruption unit dropped its investigation into the CB40 defeat by Kent at Hove in August 2011 due to a lack of evidence.
But the Mail on Sunday has reported that the ECB were not satisfied with the investigations and are seeking further clarification from two Sussex players who featured in the game.
The initial allegations were made in the book Bookie, Gambler, Fixer, Spy based on information from an Indian bookmaker which claimed the outcome of the game was fixed in favour of a Kent victory.
Both the ICC and Sussex stated last year there was not enough evidence to back up those claims.
